Rockhopper
The pirate Rockhopper is a famous and friendly red pirate penguin that continually sails to Club Penguin on his ship, called the Migrator. He generally comes to the island each other month and regularly his appearance is a part of a giant party or special event.
He comes together with his red puffle, Yarr. He always docks the Migrator at the Beach.
He usually brings rare items brought over from Rockhopper Island. Often one of the things is a free item that non-members can buy, but almost all of the things he brings are for members only. A fairly fun thing to do when Rockhopper arrives on the island is to try to find him. While he’s visiting, he will be able to regularly appear on one actual server at a time and move from place to place. Players who find him can receive a signed photograph that may be used as a player card background. When Rockhopper is online he appears just like a massive red penguin except that he wears a pirate hat, and a long black beard which help him stand aside from all of the other penguins in the group. You can see when he’s arriving by trying to find his ship on the horizon from the telescope at the apex of the lighthouse.
The Migrator will start to appear virtually a week before he arrives on the island. In a famous event in early 2008, the Migrator struck an iceberg and sank. Rockhopper and Yarr arrived on the island in a rowboat and Gary led all of Club Penguin in a massive project to rebuild Rockhopper’s ship. This event led to the launch of a new game on Club Penguin called Aqua Grabber. If you need to identify Rockhopper when he’s on the island, use some basic guiding principles. Look for him during busy times like weekends when he is most sure to appear. Team up with mates to find him. Spread out across many servers. Employ a Rockhopper Tracker to establish which server he’s on and then go from room to room on that server. Have patience. Regularly a sound plan is to choose a favored server and just wait for him.
